Gallery / D'Olier Street / Shadow Man by Aideen McFaddenBack to D'Olier Street: 22 October 2013

The photo was taken at around 5am just after an overnight rainstorm at last years Bass Coast Project, an electronic music festival in Squamish, BC, Canada. I woke up early because my tent had flooded.

The man in the image is a very good friend of mine. He is a happy wayward hippy who loves samurai swords and always wears a long black coat. He is a man who hides his true nature in the shadows where no one can see it. When I first met him he was living alone in a secret cabin in the forest. The location was a mystery. That morning at the festival was one of the rare times when I saw that other side of him, the 'shadow man'. I just happened to be on a post-storm photo mission at the time and caught him unawares with my camera.
